Thanks a Bunch!

Thank you so much for attending my open house on Sunday. I had a fantastic time seeing all of you. Now the open house was Sun 9 Aug, but this post has been in draft form since then and I am finally reacquainting myself with my blog.
Where have I been?
This card was the one we made for the Make & Take. I apologize for the dark photo, my camera wasn't co-operating with me, or maybe I was just to tired to figure it out. The main card body is Chocolate Chip with Melon Mambo Textured CS on top of that. The Melon Mambo is a gorgeous, yummy colour and unfortunately this photo does not do it justice. You will just have to come on over and check out the new In colours in person.
Since the open house I have also re-created this card using some Bermuda Bay Textured Card Stock. This card has such a simple layout but can still make quite an impact with the bright vibrant colours.

I hope you enjoy today's post and am happy to see me back again! I am officially back for good as we are getting back into routine around here and therefore blogging will be back on schedule. There is so much to share with you!

Just Jawing Birthday

My neice's birthday was last week and this is the card I made for her.  When we were camping a month ago I was inspired by the bathing suit she was wearing.  I looked at her swimsuit and said, "Hey we have a stamp set that looks like that", so here is my creation!  I used the Just Jawing stamp set along with some of the Retired Rockabilly specialty paper.  I created my own designer paper at the bottom of the card using craft spots and crystal clear embossing powder.  I used the chunky glitter in the heart eyes.  The pretty in pink portion at the top is actually textured card stock as well.  It doesn't show up very well in the picture.  I love using the textured card stock, it adds so much to a card with so little effort.

For the inside of the card, I wanted to use my Pop Up Cake Die.  This is what it looks like when you open the card.

Why settle for one dimension when you can have three?  This die is perfect for creating wedding and party projects.  The Three Tier Cake Pop-Up Sissix Die sells for $53.95, Item # 116760.

Instructions for assembly are included with the Die. There are so many different possibilities of what you can create with this cake.  All you need is a bit of imagination!

Here is another picture to show you how it looks from the top.
