Blossoms Bundle Meets Oh So Ombre Designer Paper

Welcome to my blog!!  I have been on a bit of a blogging sabbatical for the past 4 years and am ready to get it going again.  If you have already been following me on my Stampin' With Catherine Facebook Page, then you will have seen this card already.  I just fell in love with the overlay of the Many Layered Blossoms Dies that I just had to try it with every colour of the Oh So Ombre Paper.  I started with Blackberry Bliss and then.....

Rococo Rose, Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green

And I just could stop there!  I was having so much fun I just had to try some other designer papers. So, here it is with the Artistry Blooms Designer Paper with Rich Razzleberry as the card base for one and Night of Navy Card Base for the other.

I wasn't done yet, still having way too much fun!  I then tried a black overlay cut out overtop of the Rainbow Glimmer Paper. What do you think?

I did a couple so I could show you the difference of the black and white card bases!  I love them all and they are so simple to create.

This bundle is fantastic and when you purchase it you will earn a FREE Sale-a-bration product which could be the Oh So Ombre Designer Paper should you choose.

Tomorrow I will show you another card that actually uses the stamps in the set.  The possibilities are endless!

Here are the main products I used:
Blossoms in Bloom Bundle $81.75 (pg 174 Annual Catalogue)
Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper $15.75 (pg 148 Annual Catalogue)
Rainbow Glimmer Paper $8.25 (pg 153 Annual Catalogue)

I used various greetings and dies from different sets along with ribbon and rhinestones.

Have a great day!!

Season of Gratitude Paper Pumpkin Kit

Yikes!! I can't believe it has been 3 weeks since I was last here.  Tristan started hockey and that has taken the schedule to a whole new level! He has made the Colorado Rampage Squirt A Team.  We are out every night of the week with either hockey or gymnastics and this past weekend we had out first Hockey tournament in Denver. With all that, homework and Ashley's shift schedule, it is tough finding my creative time and my motivation.  I miss having you all over for classes and motivating me to create for you.

I thought to get back into creating I would start with the most recent Paper Pumpkin Kit that came in the mail.  It is called Season of Gratitude and it was so much fun to put together.  It took me awhile to get it done due to my schedule but Paper Pumpkin kits are designed to be your 30 min creative escape.  The October kit makes 8 cards and what makes them really exciting is that they are shaker cards!

You can see so many different ways of using the Paper Pumpkin kit contents as well by visiting Pinterest and search for Stampin' Up! Seasons of Gratitude, or just search Paper Pumpkin and look at all the wonderful ideas out there.

If you are interested in giving Paper Pumpkin a try, you can sign up right HERE

Paper Pumpkin costs just $26.95 a month + tax.  The next will be processing on 11 November and I am sure it will be a fun Christmas set.

You can also purchase a pre-paid subscription for multiple months and earn the Stampin' Rewards.  Just give me a call if you are interested in that option!

End of the month is coming soon... don't forget to take advantage of the current promotions

Eye-Catching IKAT!!

Have you had a look at the clearance rack lately?  I was so excited to see some of the photopolymer stamp sets we introduced monthly when we were first getting into photopolymer.  Of course, I purchased quite a few of them and than ran out to time and didn't get a chance to use them.

Well, since they are on the clearance rack and you stil can buy them, then I can still use them!!

One of my favourites is Eye-Catching IKAT!

I visited Pinterest to find some inspiration!  I was determined the use every stamp in the set and I wanted to keep the cards simple so they can reproduced quickly.  Single layer keeps it simple and then just a few rhinestones here and there to embellish.
Look at all the cards I made!

Tracy May had a few cards on Pinterest that turned the images into doodle characters.  It was so fun!  I ended up using one of the little critters on my card.  Isn't he so cute?

Last Day for Special Offers!! The Layering Ovals Framelits are are great deal!!

Alright, so last post I said I was going to create a card on Friday, I said it out loud so it would actually happen!  Well, I didn't complete a full card but I did play with some stamps and ink at a coffee shop with my friends.  Does that count?  Here are the little guys we coloured:

Well I finally got around to putting them on some notecards yesterday along with creating another card.  I wanted to use the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies that are on sale to showcase them with my card.
Today is the last day to get these particular framelits on sale.  Here is what else is on sale, click on the picture to take you to my online store.
https://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=20300&dbwsdemoid=1000112

If you ever wanted to get into Project Life, now is the time while the product is on sale.  Continue reading so you can see another way of using project life card collections....

Here is how I used my oval framelits?

Isn't he cute?  So, I started with a soft sky card base and I cut out the oval from the card front to make a window card.  I then cut out a scallop oval from a scrap piece of soft sky card stock and then using the same oval framelit as the one from the window card, cut out the centre of the scalloped oval.  Now you have a thin scallop ring to apply to the front of the card.  First I sponged it so it would stand out and I stamped on the card front with little white speckles before I adhered with tweezers and the fine tip glue pen.

The mouse is stamped on a 4 x 5 1/4" piece of white card stock with basic black archival ink.  After I coloured with markers and a blender pen, I then attached this layer to the inside front cover with dimensionals so the mouse would be set back in the window.  A stamped embossed greeting, something on the inside a coordinating envelope and finish off with some wink of stella and some glitter and you are all done!
The Inside and the coordinating envelope!
And here are the cards I made with those little mice from the first photo.  I wanted to keep them very simple on notecards.

Here are the supplies used for the Soft Sky Card:
Stamp Sets: Merry Mice (c) 142145, Mountain Adventure (p) 142194 (for the dots)

Card Stock: Soft Sky and Whisper White (on the notecards I layered on Island Indigo)

Ink: Basic Black Archival Ink, Soft Sky, Whisper White, Versamark

Markers: Smoky Slate, Island Indigo, Basic Black, Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Tip Top Taupe, Sahara Sand (for the notecards I used a wide variety of colours)

Tools: Blender Pens, Layering Ovals Framelits Dies 141706 $11.50 off reg price, Sponge, Whisper White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Big Shot, Wink of Stella Clear, Fine Tip Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter

I hope you have enjoyed my cards for today!  If you have any questions I'd be more than happy to answer them so just send me an email, or post a comment here.

Coming Soon... a How to Video on colouring with markers and blender pens....

Oh.. Last thing about the sale items... have you ever wondered what is Project Life?  Well... people just assume it is just for scrapbooking photos... but it isn't... You can make a whole variety of cards with the card collections.  My friend Patty did just that and I would like to share her amazing cards with you.  It's amazing what you can do with just a bit of imagination!

All these cards were created using the Hello Lovely Card Collection Kit!  So Much Fun!!!
